JOHN CURRIE (Trombone) – In addition to playing with the Rochester Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, John plays with other local musical groups including the Irondequoit Concert Band and the IUCC Trombone Choir. He enjoys cycling, skiing, woodworking and brewing beer. In his spare time, John is an engineering consultant with Oakridge Engineering.

JIM HAEFNER (Trombone) - Jim retired as Treasurer of Excellus BlueCross BlueShield in 2019 and now does consulting through Haefner CPA PLLC. Jim joined the Rochester Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra in 2021 and is also a member of Perinton Concert Band and Pittsford Fire Department Band. He has played with 78 RPM Big Band, Penfield Big Band, Penfield Pops Band and The Genesee Valley Band. While at Clarkson University Jim played with various groups at the Crane School of Music of SUNY Potsdam.

LAURA WHITBECK (Trombone) - When she is not working as a librarian at Nixon Peabody, Laura Whitbeck plays trombone with the Pittsford Fire Department Band, Kodak Concert Band, Flower City Pride Band, and the Rochester Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra. She is a proud alumna of Douglass College, Rutgers University, where she played with the wind ensemble, marching and pep bands.
GREG REUTER (Trombone) - A life-long resident of Irondequoit, Greg first played trombone in the Bishop Kearney High School Marching Band, and has played with the Irondequoit Concert Band for many years.  An RIT grad, he is employed as a signal processing engineer at REDCOM Laboratories.  Greg also enjoys the outdoors, welding, and operating chainsaws.
