Rochester Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra

JOHN WELDY (Piano) - John is pleased to play keyboard with the talented musicians of the RMJO.  He also plays with the Gateswingers and has played with other local bands.  Other musical interests include playing trombone and singing a cappella Renaissance music. Retired from Kodak where he managed research labs in Rochester and in the UK, John enjoys volunteering, cycling, skiing, tennis, photography, and computer programming.

BRIAN BARR (Guitar) -Brian graduated with a B.S. in Music Business at SUNY Fredonia while playing the tuba and joined the RMJO full-time in 2014 on the guitar. He works at Lake Beverage Corp, enjoys impromptu jam sessions in his basement-turned-recording-studio, and spends his free time in his vegetable garden and at his pottery wheel.

MARK ZECCHINO (Drums) - Mark enjoys playing with the Rochester Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra and a few smaller combos to "keep in touch" with his love for music. He attended the Berklee School of Music and the Eastman School of Music, but later decided to pursue an interest in electrical engineering and Information Technology.

He attended the Berklee School of Music and the Eastman School of Music, but later decided to pursue an interest in electrical engineering and Information Technology.

TIM SULLIVAN (Bass) - Tim Sullivan has played in various ensembles, including those led by Steve Greene with vocalist Tina Albright and Art Hightower’s band Orisha with vocalist Kimberly Westcott. For more than two years he led sessions at the Daily Perks coffee house, and for three years he played at the former Le Jazz Hot Café with pianists Sarah Cantine and Jim Gala. He has performed in school concerts and workshops with Paul Smoker, and led a Latin music ensemble with vocalist Hilda Chacon under the title Bossa Nova in Portuguese. Tim has composed music of various sorts, including jazz, four pieces for the Rochester Chamber Orchestra, and band music for young children through The Commission Project.
